Alex Cross is with the Washington DC Police force. Single father. Melancholic, mulling and contemplative personality. Not a grab, wham, kow pow kind of action action hero. But a regular cop. What is his forte is his tenaciousness with a case and his incisively deductive abilities, coupled with a team that adores him and a family that is his strength.

The story starts with the spine chilling fact that a psychotic gruesome killer, Gary Soneji is hiding in the basement of Alex Cross’s home to kill Cross and his family. How does Alex Cross deal with the breach of security of his own family. This face off then shifts to the labyrinthine mazes of Grand Central station. Gary Soneji is stalking and taunting Alex Cross. And suddenly the investigation turns up that there are two killers stalking Alex Cross- one in East Coast USA and the other in USA. It is as if the cats are having a game with the mouse they are about to kill.

A thrilling, edge of the seat story. One more excellent Cross novel from James Patterson.
